Goal acts confused, sits a little straighter. Toni recognizes that tone of voice raises a suspicious eyebrow. "My family," Toni says and puffs a cloud of smoke, "Mom and Dad. "So…?" Goal prompts and sits on an empty bench next to Toni. Her arm rises from where it's been hanging limply to pick the glowing stump from her mouth. They're technically alone here.Īt the question, Toni's expression shifts into disdain, and Goal can't help but scoff at that reaction. Goal shifts where she stands chances a glance at the robot treating her friend. The cigarette on her lips switches sides. "That's because I'm not," Toni replies bluntly. In fact, the look in her friend's eyes is downright stormy.
The taller woman decides that the lingering silence bothers her. In Deponia, the world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, in which the crotchety Rufus ekes out his sorry existence. Toni takes note of her, but none of them say a word. Daedalic Entertainment, once called Lucasarts from Germany by the GameStar magazine, invites the players into a fantastic comedy adventure that revolves around a crazy love story of Rufus and Goal. The worst of things we never notice because they creep up on sneaky feet. The last couple of "who lives" stories have been Goal character studies, to slowly inch into the headspace she must have had. and I was wondering what could have brought this on. There’s a moment that took me off-guard the second time around, because I knew what happened later in the game so that sequence hit me out of left field.
